My wife and I worked with Grant to add 380 sq ft to our house, expand the master bedroom to include a walk in closet and larger master bath, and re-arrange some of the existing common rooms. Grant was my wife's favorite from the get go of all the architects we interviewed because he was the most detail oriented and organized. When working through layout possibilities he was happy to do multiple iterations of ideas pulling bits and pieces from each into the final product. When putting together finishes and design development he did a great job of merging my wife's and my tastes in the design despite the fact they were often seemingly completely at odds. The final plans were super detailed and made our job working with the contractor a lot easier as our answer to most questions was "look at the plans." Overall we love the finish product and appreciate all Grant did in bringing this project together. We happily recommend him to anyone looking for an architect for any size project.

We hired Grant to redesign the top floor of our two bedroom condo with the goal of adding a washer/dryer. This project also involved enlarging our bathroom which required rerouting plumbing and reframing walls. Grant provided us with 3 excellent design options and we chose what we felt was unique and took all of our "must haves" into consideration. Not only did he provide the architectural drawings, but also worked with us on choosing the right tile, tub, sink, cabinet, and all of the finishes. Grant is detail oriented and his design sense is modern. I'd certainly trust him with my next project and hope to work with him again in the near future.

My husband and I worked with Grant on our recent home remodel project. Our project scope was a new master bedroom suite, remodel/reconfiguration of a kid's bathroom, a new family room, a new office/guest bedroom, and capturing back crawl space area to create a new full bathroom. We were impressed with Grant from our first meeting and continued to be impressed throughout the process. He really listened to what we wanted from the project and understood what we would like. We're very happy with the finished result for our project and have already recommended Grant to a few of our friends.

We held informational interviews with over half a dozen architects before deciding to engage Grant to help design our store (a dessert shop concept). We were so pleased and impressed with his services that we engaged him again on the next project we had queued (a fusion restaurant concept).

Grant was lead architect on our residential project, which involved completely renovating a 90 year old home, and doubling the habitable square footage. The project took roughly 2 years from start-to-finish, 6 months of which was spent dealing with our city's planning department.
The bulk of our day-to-day communication was over email, which worked well for us all. When we came across inspirational photos in magazines or online, we would send those over. When we came across something we felt absolutely had to be incorporated into our plans, rather than simply copy-paste to make us happy, Grant would rework things to be consistent with our overall design. We especially appreciated the fact that if something we wanted didn't really make much sense, Grant would (tactfully) push back.
Our lot and pre-existing structure presented some interesting architectural challenges, as did the fact that my wife and I enjoy different architectural styles. In the end, Grant designed us a traditional home with modern touches that looks fantastic, and is very functional for our growing family. Grant paid enormous attention to detail, and it really shows in the finished product. He thoughtfully placed every single power outlet and recessed light, and ensured that various design elements align visually (and perfectly). The custom mouldings he designed for our walls, doors, and windows give the home great character.
Having lived in our home for 7 months now, we can't think of anything we would do differently. If we are ever crazy enough to take on another renovation, Grant will be the first and only person we call.
